This is such an important part of getting things achieved in life and becoming greater. Not enough people think about doing this and it’s so important in having great goals that get accomplished. Too often many people set goals that are too small and that can really be holding them back. Why? Because setting big goals can really help you get big results. Think about it this way small goals get small outcomes and big goals get you big things.

The reasons why it’s so important to set big goals

1- It gets you thinking about what you really want

Setting big goals can get you to see what areas of your life really matter to you and what you really want. This year my husband and I set the big goal for our family to move from California to Colorado. If you had told us a few years ago that this would be something we would eventually do I wouldn’t have believed it.

For too long we stayed safe and comfortable from year to year. Nothing really changed and our levels of happiness and stress stayed the same. We needed to start thinking big so in 2016 we made big goals and things started changing.

That’s why it’s so important to set big goals. Once you start you build momentum and your life begins to change. You can see what you really want and what is important more clearly.

2- Setting big goals pushes you out of your comforter zone

Last year I realized that my life was never going to get better if I didn’t get out of my comfort zone. I had stayed firmly in that zone for years. I didn’t really believe anything would really ever change.

Guess what it didn’t.

So we started pushing things out of our comfort zone as a couple and it wasn’t a painless process but things began to work. I know that change is uncomfortable. So if you fear change and doing things that are unknown I understand completely.

I also know that since we made these changes there has been more excitement and joy in our lives. I want you to have the same experience. I have found that once I started making bigger goals that it led to me feeling more comfortable making larger goals in new areas. You have to start taking those first steps.

3- Big goals change your mindset

Too often we sell ourselves short by thinking too small and not really being honest and open about what we really want to achieve. If we think of a big goal. Such as lose 50 pounds, get out of debt, write a book, etc we immediately start to doubt ourselves.

As a blogger, I realized that I was not getting as big as I wanted or seeing the accomplishments that I saw other bloggers I admired achieving. So I started looking into why and doing some research on successful people. That’s where I discovered the idea of mindset.

Mindset is a lot about what we tell ourselves and let ourselves believe. By playing my life scared and small for so long I was in the mindset that I deserved small and that my life was small. Then I shifted my thinking and stuff started happening.

Sing June my husband left a job he didn’t like that had no future. Got another job, we then made the decision to move. I started getting serious about my blog as a business and make more money with it. I’m writing my ebook on growing your blog with Pinterest.

All of this life and business growth really started happening once we got out of the mindset that my husband had to stay at a job he was unhappy at and that my blog was a hobby, not a business. We both started thinking bigger and we are much happier than we were just 8 months ago.

This makes me so excited for you. I am sure that there is some part of your life where you want to see growth and improvement. I know this is possible and you should be setting big goals to start achieving these big dreams of yours.
